The Impact of Counterinsurgency Policies on National Security
Abstract
Counterinsurgency policies have become a critical element of national security strategies in countries facing internal armed conflicts, terrorism, and political instability. These policies are designed to defeat insurgent movements while addressing the underlying political, economic, and social factors that contribute to insurgency. This study examines the impact of counterinsurgency policies on national security through qualitative research methods. It explores how COIN strategies influence political stability, military effectiveness, public trust, and long-term security outcomes. Furthermore, the paper demonstrates how desktop publishing techniques can be employed to present complex security research in a proficient and accessible setup. The findings suggest that successful counterinsurgency policies enhance national security by reducing violence, strengthening governance, and improving civilian confidence, while poorly implemented policies may increase insecurity and social tensions.
